“Wii-fm!”
Like it or not we are all conditioned to some extent! If you don’t believe me then you wouldn’t associate any brand with the slogan “I’m loving it” or if you’re a little older (like me!) “Have a break have a ……….”
If you did not get either of these,……. Congratulations! You are immune to multimillion global marketing campaigns!
So why is this relevant? It’s easy; as we are all conditioned to some extent, why not use it to our advantage?
And here is how:
Job seekers ask them selves “What’s in it for me?” when they read a job description.
The answer to this question can only be answered by the job seeker as it could be a number of things that they value.
What employers can do is write a job description that contains keywords and sentences that are likely to trigger a positive answer to that question.
Here are some key words you can start with:
(Target yourself to use at least 3 in your next job description.)
Amazing, Astonishing, Attractive, Beautiful, Better, Bonus, Direct, Excellent, Exciting, Fantastic, Free, Guaranteed, Helpful, Huge, Improved, Incredible, Interesting, New, Opportunity, Outstanding, Professional, Quality, Rare, Reduced, Remarkable, Sensational, Staff discount, Superior, Terrific, Undeniably, Unique, Unlimited, Unparalleled, Unsurpassed, Unusual, Wanted, Warm, Wonderful
